This encoder is used to monitor the flood gate height of a new dam construction in a remote location near Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix, Quebec, Canada

 

Below you can see the top of the flood gate. A TR encoder is monitoring the position of the gate as the cable you see would roll out or roll in. 

 

 

Our customer was having trouble communicating with the encoder so our service personnel travelled along dirt, logging roads, with no cell service along long stretches of the journey.

 

 

Once he arrived, he got the encoder communicating again. Another satisfied customer!
