The 115 protective housing features well-established mechanics that include a reinforced mounting flange and a durable mounting foot. Forces exerted on the shaft are effectively dissipated into the flange through two strong bearings. Additionally, the internal rotary encoder is shielded from harmful influences by the surrounding continuous cast aluminum housing, which has a wall thickness of 20 mm.
The innovation in the new protective housing version is the fully accessible connection bell, allowing users direct access to the encoder's M12 connections. Preassembled cables for bus and supply voltage are routed through the open sealing assembly. TR Electronic provides sealing adapters for various cable diameters. Once the cables are connected, the connection bell is screwed on, and the seal assembly is mounted and clamped, ensuring full protection for the rotary encoder.
